Yasmine’s Kitchen
:D
Decisions, decisions.
It’s been almost 3 years since I began documenting what I make in the kitchen for the sake of reference (and sharing it with people I knew!). Alright. Maybe boredom played a huge part in this. I had absolutely no social life. Still don’t… actually. Oh, how fast time passes. Before I started doing so and getting responses from people, I had no idea how much I loved cooking and...

Peanut Butter Marshmallow Krispie Topped Brownies
I bet I had you drooling just by reading the title! First of all, let me state that I had no intention of making these till it was my friend Sadeem’s birthday. Her sister made those absolutely divine brownies and I just kept bugging her to give me the recipe ever since! Second of all, I LOVE YOU SADEEM! These brownies are absolutely delicious and almost fool proof!
I would like to note...

Homemade French Fries!
UPDATE: After a LOT of months of making french fries, I realized this isn’t the best method. I might post about it later!
I have finally made crispy french fries from scratch. Aaaaah, those were very tasty!
Very crispy and crunchy, too!
Bring the potatoes and then:
- Peel ‘em
- Cut them to french fries size (I like mine a bit large)
- Wash them
- Soak them in cold water and...

Avocado Salad with Vinaigrette Dressing
This salad has been made ages ago, but I haven’t thought of posting it till now. Why? Well, let’s say I am craving it and I’m expecting one of you to make it and send it to me. Kthx.
Since I don’t remember exactly the measurements and the amount of ingredients used, I’m just going to tell you what I remember.
Salad Ingredients:
- Avocados, peeled and sliced
-...

Buttermilk Pancakes!
I’ve been having those pancakes for a while now… just never cared to share the recipe because it’s not something umm, “new”? I don’t know! I don’t share what I do often.
My family has the box mix version a lot. It’s good, it’s probably one of the best mixes out there. But… it feels good to make it yourself and customize the amount of...

DOUBLE Chocolate Muffins!
Since I am a little greedy on my chocolate intake bit… I decided to make this. I made these two times in two days. These were simply DELISH! I’m into muffins lately so yeah. But seriously, if you love double chocolate muffins you MUST give this recipe a try.
You’ll need:
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate (about 4 big blocks of unsweetened chocolate, I used non-modified...
Chocolate Chip Muffins
OH. MY. GOD.
Remember all those horrific muffins you had at certain bakeries? The really hard, tasteless, baked-two-days-ago ones? Forget that you ever had them.
I know they are not pretty. But they are muffins, come on. Plus the smell blinds you.. it’s THAT good.
First of all, remind me to sue Starbucks for the lamest muffins EVER. Second of all, after finishing reading this...

Dark Chocolate Cupcakes.
Okay, first let me tell you that I’m a VERY messy cupcake maker. Like, really messy! So.. since we got that clear. Everyone loved this cupcake, seriously, everyone ate it and there was only 3 left by the end of the day. My personal opinion? I despied it lol. That’s so weird. I think maybe because the frosting is dark (and slightly bitter.. story follows). I really liked the...
Crispy Chicken Strips
Can you believe that these babies aren’t fried? Well.. I made them, and I CAN’T! Okay, maybe I can just a little bit because they’re not awfully greasy. They’re just how I like them…crunchy! Since I am bad at posting recipes for something I saw at some site and happened to remember by lunch time.. I’m going to give you the idea and you’ll manage to...
Chocolate Molten Lava Cakes.
Oh, this was so good. I can’t even find words to describe it. But if you’re not a chocolate lover, you might as well exit this page and forget about it. It’s so chocolatey, so rich, so … Okay, let’s just start explainin’! First, you’ll need this: My precious Maltesers Umm, just kidding, you don’t really need it.. but I like to snack sometimes...

Kladdkaka!
I love the sound of this Swedish chocolate cake. It’s just like a brownie.. only stickier and… it tastes so good!
I got this recipe from AllRecipes, a plurker posted the link a few weeks back and I managed to make it because I had all the ingredients in hand. It is SO easy and SO worth it!
Ingredients
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 pinch salt

Red Velvet Cupcakes!
Oh, these were DELISH. I got this recipe off of Nutrition To Kitchen, and I am so glad I did! I roamed in the web for the perfect recipe, but each website had commenters who thought that the cupcakes were either too dry, too oily, or too bland. So I googled “Moist red velvet cupcakes”, and I found the perfect recipe for it! It was so moist, so flavorful, so … everything...
"World's Best Cheesecake"
I am guilty of googling stuff like that. I guess I found it! World’s Best Cheesecake, and I very much confirm it. But, that’s only for cheesecake lovers. Others would find it too heavy or too cheesy. But my, it was so good! Even my brother -who doesn’t love cheesecake- said it was very good!
Here’s the recipe, even though I skipped adding the crushed walnuts because I...
Curried Chicken Salad Sandwich.
Absolutely perfect! I loved every minute of munching on this great sandwich.
I was browsing through Dutch Girl Cooking blog right when I found this great recipe. I tweaked it a lot, but hey, that’s what you do with recipes like that, right? I mean it’s not like baking or anything!
You’ll need:
-Cold chicken, you could use ANY left over chicken, I just grilled one chicken...
Mini Baked Cheesecake
I got SO many good compliments on this mini baked cheesecake. EVERYONE loved it, and I’ll definitely make this some more in the future!
This was my first time making it, so hopefully I’ll be able to make it more pretty next time! It really really tastes good.
Makes 12 Mini Cheesecakes

Black Bottom Cupcakes.
Edible. Just edible.
(Update: THEY TASTE WAY BETTER THE NEXT DAY! But I don’t think I’ll make this again any time soon.)
I never imagined in my life I’d say NO to cream cheese, but in this case: a big NO to cream cheese! The topping tasted awful and was just too gooey. Not too awful the next day, till cheesy, but good.
(The topping ingredients)
The cake recipe was...
Sour Cream Chicken Cutlets w/ Grilled Onions!
I had this sour cream, which expires tomorrow, and I HAD to make something with it this evening. So, ahem, I tweeted: “I have 2 cups of sour cream that are expiring tomorrow!! Someone give me a good recipe.. NOW!” and I got some nice responses to that.
Thanks to a twitterer who linked me a list of recipes, I’ve managed to pick a recipe that worked for me. But, to be honest, I...
Walnut Coffee Cake!
I cannot stop talking about this fabulous coffee cake! I don’t know if it’s because I’m in love with all of it’s ingredients (walnuts, cinnamon, sugar..etc), or because it actually IS awesome! It was a modified recipe taken from the cookbook: Cooking With Friends. It doesn’t look so tempting (of course, it’s a coffee cake. It is supposed to look plain and...
Almost a cheesecake.
I have this great recipe for something that looks like a cheesecake, but actually isn’t. It has a crunchy base, vanilla taste, and coffee/caramel topping. What more could you ask for?
Ingredients:
First layer:
- 2 cups crushed sweetened biscuits (the amount is up to you, really, depends on how crunchy you want it to be.)
- 1 stick butter (room temperature).
Second layer:
- 2 cups...
Butter Chicken With Naan Bread.
At last! I’ve made one of my favorite dinner dishes of all time. Butter chicken! It tasted pretty good.. (slightly more sour than I expected but thankfully I just LOVE sour). My sister loved it, and so did I! I’d definitely be making this again.
(before adding in the butter chicken sauce)
We had it with Naan bread, of course!
And another yummy thing in our home today, is my...
Lazy Friday Morning Waffles.
I’ve been craving waffles for months now, finally got the maker! It wasn’t so great (shape-wise), but I guess you get what you pay for, bought it with 45 SR ($12). Carrefour didn’t have any other waffle maker available so I had to buy this one. I’ll go waffle-maker hunting in the upcoming week!
As for the waffle recipe, I’ve tried a waffle recipe which tasted...
Intro.
I have always loved cooking, baking, and pretty much creating anything. I love trying out new recipes, and keeping the ones I like! (And sometimes, warning people of the ones I DON’T like. Like that lemon meringue pie recipe, yikes. Story might follow later!)
So I decided to create this tumblelog to share my successes and failures in the kitchen. Not sure if I should post the previous...
