Lazy Friday Morning Waffles.

I’ve been craving waffles for months now, finally got the maker! It wasn’t so great (shape-wise), but I guess you get what you pay for, bought it with 45 SR ($12). Carrefour didn’t have any other waffle maker available so I had to buy this one. I’ll go waffle-maker hunting in the upcoming week!

As for the waffle recipe, I’ve tried a waffle recipe which tasted AMAZING even though I messed it up a lot. Only problem is? Well, it tasted nothing like a waffle and more like pancakes. This could be because the batter was so runny, or the waffle maker holes weren’t too deep. I’m guessing any of those! But, if you wanna try a very fluffy delicious waffle, here’s the recipe (with a few modifications I made):

Ingredients:

- 1 1/3 cups of flour (make sure you sift it, I forgot to do so!)

- 4 teaspoons of baking powder.

- pinch of salt.

- 2 teaspoons of sugar (I forgot to add this, absolutely necessary, makes it crunchier.)

- 2 eggs, seperate the egg whites and put them in a small mixing bowl.

- 1/2 cup of melted butter.

- 1 3/4 cup of milk (room temperature).

- 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

Directions:

- Whisk: the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together.

- Add: egg yolks to the dry ingredients mixture.

- Beat: the eggwhites, untill stiff and can stay in place. (For this particular point I’d like to use an electric egg beater, makes it eaiser and takes less time. Unless you want to do it as an exercise, then do as you please!)

- Blend: milk, and melted butter to the dry ingredients mixture.

- Fold: the stiff egg whites into the mixture, do not over mix! Just do it till they are well blended.

- Pour mixture into waffle maker and bake for 2-5 minutes, depending on your waffle maker.

Happy Cooking!
